She was predeceased by: her parents, Nolan Epps and Mildred Kirby Epps; her husband William L. "Bill" Armstrong; her son David; her daughter-in-law Cathie Armstrong; and her sister Helen Loveberry.
She is survived by: her children, Ellen Benedict (Mark) of El Paso, Steven Armstrong of El Paso and Tom Armstrong (Ann) of Champaign; and her sister Donna Stadley of Houston, TX. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
