He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Donald Ray and Caroline Rose Louise (Schmidt); his wife Misty Eve Mathena; his stepmother Bev Vermaat of South Elgin, IL; his children, Katy Lundsteen (Brad) of Hampshire, IL, Elizabeth Malcom (Don) of Sycamore, IL, Kristina Jones (Tim) of Elburn, IL, Jackie Vermaat of Danvers, IL and Ricky Vermaat (Sammie Spencer) of LeRoy, IL; his grandchildren, Zach Holbrook (Luka), Kaden Holbrook (Raven Peterson), Easton Lundsteen, Ally Lundsteen, Ryan Malcom, Anderson Malcom, Harrison Malcom, Hailey Jones, Annika Jones, Scarlett Jones and Farrah Jones; his siblings, Don Vermaat, Ron Vermaat of St. Charles, IL, John Vermaat (Kathleen) of Batavia, IL, Marianne Nelson (Darrell) of Carol Stream, IL, Roseanne Vermaat of Batavia, IL, James Vermaat of DeKalb, IL and Margaretanne Martinez of St. Charles, IL; and his pet Oakley. He was also cherished by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
