It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wilma K. Buhnerkempe of Effingham, Illinois, who passed away on October 22, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Pals and Veronica Pals; her spouse Laverne E. Buhnerkempe; her daughter Karen Lucille Buhnerkempe; her sister Marie; her siblings-in-law, John Pike, Ed Ungrund, Arthur, Irene Buhnerkempe and Lucille Buhnerkempe; her parents-in-law, Edward and Agnes Buhnerkempe; her niece Linda Root; and her nephew Robert Pike.
She is survived by: her children, John Chatham (Barbara), James Effingham (Karen), Jeanne Althoff of Effingham, Mary Drury (Robert) of Yellow Springs, OH and Anita Broom (Robert) of Effingham; her sister Alice Ungrund; and her brother-in-law Larry Buhnerkempe. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 3 step-great-grandchildren.
