He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Schaefer of Effingham; his children, Kevin Schaefer of Effingham, Teri Schaefer of Effingham, Todd Schaefer (Michelle) of Effingham and Jenee Berg (Randy); his grandchildren, Meredith Schaefer, Riley Berg, Ross Schaefer and Lucas Berg; his sibling Sarah Louise Schaefer of Effingham; his mother-in-law Elnora Smallwood; and his sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Schaefer, Janice Mette (John), Karen Potts (Noel) and Sandy Devall (Rich). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
