He was predeceased by: his parents, James Lovell and Maxine Lovell; his daughter Darla Lovell; and his parents-in-law, Marion and Pauline McGregor.
He is survived by: his wife Kay Lovell (McGregor) of Effingham; his children, Alan Lovell of Effingham and Marilyn Koester (Rob) of Brazil, IN; his grandchildren, Trenton Koester of Charleston, IL, Haley Koester of Brazil, IN and Grace Koester of Brazil, IN; and his brother Dean Lovell (Judy) of Tuscola, IL..
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 4th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral Home (1110 N 4th St, Effingham, IL 62401). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the First Baptist Church (213 W Fayette Ave, Effingham, IL 62401).
In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to HSHS Home Care, First Baptist Church of Effingham, or Gideon International.
