He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Melvin, Sr. and Eleanora Mae Sloan (Abernathy); his friends, Scarecrow and Left; and his siblings, Leo M. Sloan, Jr., Lawrence Sloan, Loren Sloan and Lucille Steffen Wissink.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Alyvia, Sophia Heath, Nora Sloan, Timothy, Max, Maya Moore and Tristin Duncan; his siblings, Mary Lee Runge (Leroy), Goreville, Linda McCoy (Floyd), Newton, Judy Pedigo, Clarksville, Debbie Shirley (Kevin) and Sullivan; and his sister-in-law Julie Sloan of Toledo.
Memorials may be made to the Gift of Hope Organ and Tissue Donation… Network.In 2008, Rick was the recipient of a life-saving heart transplant.
