He was predeceased by: his parents, Aloysius Esker and Louise Esker (Probst); his wife Georgia "Jo" Jackson; his granddaughter Rachel Parkerson; and his great grandchild Jeremy Hale.
He is survived by: his children, Lori Smothers (Robert) of Effingham, Ralph Esker of Effingham and Julia May of Greenwood, IN; his grandchildren, Christina Pruett, Angela McDaniel, Jennifer Davis, Michael Esker, Amanda Rodriguez and Rebecca Raker; his great grandchildren, Caydin Vaughn, Madison McDaniel, Makala McDaniel, Emily Hale, Nathan Hale, Devon Rodriguez, Kaitlyn Zeigler, Jeremy Irish, Layla Irish, Rex Parkerson, Aurora Raker, Manessah Esker and Nehemiah Esker; and his siblings, Joyce Koeberlein and Gene Esker.
