He was predeceased by: his parents, Namon Banning and Pauline Banning (Mahaffey); his son Rex Allen Banning; his sister Beverly Morgan; and his mother-in-law Mary Lou Darling.
He is survived by: his former wife Deborah Darling; his wife Debbie Banning of Effingham, Illinois; his cousin Larry Darling; his children, Rick "Rooster" Banning (Dawn) of Edgewood, Russell Banning (Candace) of St. Elmo, Illinois and Reba Trier (Jeff) of St. Elmo, Illinois; and his sister Glenda Liggett (Curtis). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
