He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Otto Budde and Emma Budde (Bergman); his siblings, Eldred Budde (Betty) of Argenta, Darrel Budde of Louisville, Joan Cunningham of Effingham, Carolyn Hammer (Howard) of Altamont and Judy Stuemke (Sam) of Altamont; his sister-in-law Loma Budde of Louisville; his siblings, Henry, Rufus, Delmar, Bernice Wolff, Elnora Budde and Janice Holste; his siblings-in-law, Ray Wolff and Doris Budde; and his nephews, Mark Budde and Ricky Cunningham. He was also cherished by 12 nieces and 13 nephews.
Memorials donations in Mervin's honor may be given to St. John's Lutheran Church, 17684 1st Avenue, Louisville, Illinois 62858.
