Marita C. Kemme Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Marita C. Kemme of Effingham, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 23, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Kortte and Celeste Kortte (Haarmann); and her brother Phillip Kortte. She is survived by: her husband Donald Kemme; her children, Mark Kemme (Karen), Paul Kemme (Jane), Bishop Carl Kemme, Todd Kemme (Julie), Edward Kemme (Leslie) and Lucinda Herboth (Brian); her brother Ralph Kortte (Betty Jean); and her sister-in-law Jane Kortte. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Parish Hall Building Fund or St. Mary's Cemetery.
