It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jerome F. Schutzbach of Effingham, Illinois, born in Saint Louis, Missouri, who passed away on October 23, 2022, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Cyril Schutzbach and Lucille Schutzbach (Grote); and his brother Cy Schutzbach. He is survived by: his wife Marcella of Effingham; his children, Donald Schutzbach (Mary) of Effingham, Teri Wortman (Rob) of Effingham, Mike Schutzbach (Crystal) of Effingham, Linda Miller (Michael) of Seminole, FL and Lisa Wortman (John) of Effingham; his grandchildren, Andrew Schutzbach, Justin Schutzbach, Patrick Schutzbach, Mitchell Wortman (Kaitlyn), Jackie Wortman, Nick Wortman, Anthony Miller, Sam Wortman, Anna Hecht (Ben), Emily Wortman, Maria Miller and Claire Wortman; his great grandchild Phoenix Wortman; and his sister Mary Lou Althoff of Jacksonville, IL. He is also survived by many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Anthony Schools. Donations to the family will be directed to comfort care for patients at the Effingham Crossroads Cancer Center.
