She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Smethers and Kathleen Smethers (Young); her brother Mike Smethers; and her son-in-law Ken Haywood. She is survived by: her husband James R. Wernsing; her children, Michael (Cristy) and Teresa Haywood; her sisters, Mary Ann Stogner and Marie Schroeder; and her grandchildren, Kayla, Craig, Cayden, Chloe, Colin and Kate Wernsing.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
