He was predeceased by: his parents, James M. Poynter and Agatha Poynter (Siemer); and his wife Martha. He is survived by: his brother Gary Poynter (Barb Ealy); his nephew Mike Poynter (Sharon); and his nieces, Mindy Nosbisch (Mike) and Jenny Moore (Scott).
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Johnson Funeral Home (1110 N 4th St, Effingham, IL 62401). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (405 S Henrietta St, Effingham, IL 62401). A committal service was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Calvary Cemetery (3115 W Charles Bussey Ave, Little Rock, AR 72204).
