He was predeceased by: his parents, Kermit Lawrence and Berniece Lawrence (Devore); his former wife Mary Mose; and his son Jimmy Lawrence. He is survived by: his wife Melba J. Bartels; his children, Terry Lawrence (Sherry) of Gladewater, TX, Steve Lawrence (Mary) of Mattoon, Richard Lawrence (Tracy) of Springfield and Lori Ashe (Brian) of Mattoon; and his siblings, Walter Lawrence (Mary Ann) of Water Valley, KY, Wayne Lawrence (Linda) of Water Valley, KY, Janet Donaldson (James) of Altamont and Bonnie Watkins (Steve) of Dieterich. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be given to Gideons or to the First Baptist Church in Effingham.
