He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob John and Thelma Klay (Gaines); his wife Joan Edwards; his brothers, Edward Klay and Lester Klay; and his great grandchild Austin Flach.
He is survived by: his children, Karen S. Flach (Mark) of Effingham, Karla Flach (Robert) of Effingham and Eric Klay (Jeanetta) of Dieterich. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
