He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Ashbaugh and Daisy Ashbaugh (Bishop); his siblings, Donald Ashbaugh, Marbelle Haslett, Twilla Eirhart and Ruth Parks; and his daughter-in-law Jean Ann Ashbaugh.
He is survived by: his wife Irene Ashbaugh of Effingham; his sons, David Ashbaugh (Cathy) of Effingham, John Ashbaugh of Watson and Clark Ashbaugh (Wendy Will) of Effingham; his grandchildren, Holly Curry (Tom), Mitchell Ashbaugh (Stephanie), Jacqueline "Dani" Ashbaugh (Kyle Adamic) and Austin Ashbaugh; his stepgrandchildren, Tanishia Fulk (Josh) and Kyle Tatman (Julie Volk); and his sister Maybelle Barnes of St. Elmo. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
