With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Geraldine Overbeck of Effingham, Illinois, born in Chicago Heights, Illinois, who passed away on March 20, 2021 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Leander Tays and Mary Tays (Meyer); her husband Lawrence "Peeny" Overbeck; her daughter Judy Schell; her son-in-law Dave Boerngen; and her sister Marie Niemerg.
She is survived by: her pet Tiny; her children, Sharon Boerngen of Effingham and Gene Overbeck (Tracey) of Dieterich; her brother Harold Tays (Lettie) of Mattoon; her son-in-law Kevin Schell of Rinard; and her grandchildren, Shawn Bannick (Sarah) of Louisville, Shane Bannick (Lesley Waldhoff) of Toledo, Shannon Heuerman (Travis) of Dieterich, Sara Fred (Jessy Draves) of Effingham, Chris Deters (Beth) of Henderson, KY, Corey Deters (Mandy) of Flora, Ashley Arnold (Travis) of Louisville, Hayle Gray (Steve) of Flora, Amanda Schell of Flora, Jessica Ruble (Ryan) of Cisne and Heather Rice (Zach) of Xenia. She is also survived by 26 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Lincolnland Hospice.
