He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford A. West and Wanda Lou West (Ballinger); his sisters, Pamela Tarr and Caroline Smith; and his sister-in-law Carol West.

He is survived by: his wife Lois Kelly of Effingham; his children, Gary Jr. of Effingham and Terri of Effingham; and his brother Ron of Watson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the family to help with final expenses.
