He was predeceased by: his parents, Royal Brooks and Eva Brooks (Cunefare); and his sister Gail Lynn James. He is survived by: his wife Alita Brooks of Effingham; his daughters, Aundrea Brooks (Craig Seiler) of Newton and Carrie Hite (Dean) of Windsor; and his grandchildren, Riley Hite and Rory Hite.

Memorials may be made to Effingham Masonic Lodge #149.
