He is survived by: his wife Ruth A. Smith of Effingham; his sons, Brian Hatley of Effingham, Andrew Smith of Shelbyville and Gabe Meece of Flippin, Arkansas; his mother Mary Ellen Uhrick (Oller) of Taylorville; his stepfather Larry Uhrick of Quincy; his grandchildren, Austin Edward Hatley of Taylorville, Jayden Asher Smith of Shelbyville and Amber Meece of Petersburg; and his brother Harold "Ed" Smith (Pam) of Killeen, Texas. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews, and aunts and uncles.
