She was predeceased by: her parents, Virgil R. Sr. Ashley and Stella M. Ashley (Miller); her husband Robert F. Rueter; and her son-in-law Galen Bremmer. She is survived by: her pet Gizmo; her children, Robert E. Rueter Jr. of Effingham, Richard Rueter (Marilyn) of Branson, MO, Brenda Bremmer of Indianapolis, IN, Karen Rueter of Effingham and Kevin Rueter (Belinda) of Louisville, IL; and her sister Linda Nees of Edgewood. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the St. Louis Children's Hospital.
