With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Donna Bergbower (Effingham, Illinois), born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, who passed away on March 25, 2020 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Leo Lager and Gertrude Lager (Pieper); and her siblings, Dorothy Selby, Bob Lager, Betty Thomas and Leo Lager.
She is survived by: her husband Don Bergbower of Effingham; her children, Sandy Lash (Fred) of Watson, Jerry Bergbower (Elaine) of Gouverneuer, NY, Dan Bergbower of Springfield, Raymond Bergbower of Sparta, MO and Jim Bergbower (Teresa) of Toledo; her grandchildren, Kevin Lash (Lara), Jacky Lash (Paul Evans), Shelley Hensley (Anthony Bennett), David Bergbower, Jeremy Bergbower and Joshua Hurst (Mindy); her great grandchildren, Brady, Lelu, Cass, Jude, Logan, MaKenzie and Hailey; and her siblings, Ruth Skousen, Jim Lager, Joan Ley, Dick Lager and Judy O'Lear. She is also survived by the children grow and mature around cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Catholic Charities or Sacred Heart School and may be accepted at Johnson Funeral Home, 1110 N. Fourth Street, Effingham, IL 62401.
