He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter A. Mehl and Helen M. Mehl (Russell); his wife Charlotte Mehl; his children, Chad A. Mehl and Debra Bosomworth; his sister Carol Koester; his granddaughter Kimberly Dawn Florido; and his son-in-law Kenneth Florido.
He is survived by: his children, Stanley Mehl (Sue) of Altamont, Timothy Mehl (Amy) of Effingham, Doyle Mehl (Kris) of Heartville, Illinois and Dawn Florido of Effingham, Illinois; and his siblings, Wendell Mehl of Olney, David A. Mehl of Kansas City, Missouri, Leona Czerwonka (Donald) of Tuscola and June McKenna (Tim) of Mattoon, Illinois. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association.
