He was predeceased by: his parents, Anthony J. Koester (Tony) and Clara J. Koester (Having); his wife Linda L. (Bergfeld); and his siblings, Margaret M. Lindsay, Robert Koester, Ralph T. Koester, Raymond J. Koester, Sidona Lau, Norbert H. Koester, Walter R. Koester, Florence Michels and James K. Koester.
He is survived by: his daughters, Tammy Parks (Bret) of Madison, Wisc, Tracey Lucchesi (Dino) of Grayslake and Amy Koester of Grayslake; his grandchildren, Morgan Koester Parks, Griffin Koester Parks, Gianni Lucchesi, Dominic Lucchesi, Alex Nixon, Matt Nixon and Andrey Zelentsov (Wendy) of San Diego, Calif.; and his siblings-in-law, Janet Koester of Teutopolis, Arthur Michels of Wheeler, Richard, Karen Bergfeld and Ariz.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Effingham County FISH Human Services.
