David Koenig Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Koenig of Effingham, Illinois, who passed away on September 27, 2022, at the age of 64, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth "Red" Koenig and Martha Koenig (Heath); his daughter Katy Koenig; his siblings, Kenny Koenig Jr. and Jane Ann Slifer; and his brothers-in-law, Kenny Smith and Jerry Haarmann.
He is survived by: his wife Melissa Koenig; his children, Jason Koenig (Stephanie), Beth Koenig, Joshua Koenig (Lauren), Lindsay Koenig, Kenny Koenig (Chelsie), Shelby Funneman (Josh) and Jessica Mette (Derek); his grandchildren, Lane, Skyler, Blake, Keagyn, Chase, Kamden, Jackson, Kalynn, Ayson, Mila, Quinn, Rynleigh and Nolan; his siblings, Becky Fox (Kyle), John Koenig (Patsy), Beverly Smith, Barbara Schneider (Leroy) and Marjorie Haarmann; his siblings-in-law, Diane Koenig and Wayne Slifer; his parents-in-law, Ronald and Kaye Grewell; and his siblings-in-law, Cindy Smith (Darrell) and Scott Grewell (Cheryl). He is also survived by 24 nieces and nephews; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
