He was predeceased by: his parents, William Lester and Marjorie Ellen Hargis (Neisler); and his sister-in-law Margaret Hargis. He is survived by: his wife Janet Hargis of Effingham; his children, Michael Lee Hargis of Englewood, CO, Don Phillip Hargis (Marta) of Littleton, CO, Gina Hargis of Effingham and Kelsey Clark of Effingham; his brother Gerald Hargis of China Grove, NC; his brother-in-law Bill Hinkley (Cheryl) of Stewardson; his grandsons, Pablo, David Hargis, Brandon, Justin Hargis and Addison Clark; and his nieces and nephews, Carolyn Hargis, David Hargis, Michele Hinkley and Jason Burner.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Centenary United Methodist Church or Catholic Charities.
