With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Cletus J. Koester of Effingham, Illinois, who passed away on February 24, 2024 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred F. Koester and Catherine E. Koester (Keck); his son David; and his siblings, Alice Malcom, Raymond Koester, Bernard Koester, Rita Brumleve, Leonard Koester and Adolph Koester.
He is survived by: his wife Elisabeth Ann "Betty" Goeckner; his sons, Greg, Dan, Chris, John (Jackie), Tim (Bev), Ted (Kathy) and Eric; his daughter-in-law Beth Musser Koester; his siblings, Madonna Goeckner and Thomas Koester; his grandchildren, Hilary, MacKency, Brandon, Matthew, Cody, Kallie, Jessie, Reid, Jake, Alexander, Alicia, Kierani and Teagan; his great grandchildren, Keaton, Hadley, Silas, Sawyer, Wade, Benson and Milanie; and his caregivers, Jenna Flood, Collin Hartke and Kristin Perkins.
Memorial donations may be given to the St. Anthony Schools.
