He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville Mayhood and Mildred Mayhood (Finfrock); his daughter Cathy Swingler (Steve); his grandson Jason Mayhood; his great grandchild Brett Mayhood; and his sister Carol Manuel (Gary).
He is survived by: his wife Norma Jean "Jeannie" Smith; his children, Steve Mayhood (Nancy), Mark Mayhood (Dianne), Jim Mayhood (Cinia Molina) and Lynne Ann Nosbisch (Robert); his grandchildren, Christopher Mayhood, Beth Mayhood, Scott Mayhood, Christy Hakman (Tony), Brian Swingler (Erin), Carrie Schultz (Kevin), Brandt Mayhood (Valerie), Brook Mayhood, Blake Nosbisch, Aaron Nosbisch (Skye) and Caily Nosbisch (Garrett Kaminski); and his sister Gwen Mann (Bob). He is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Cross Foundation, The Family Life Center, or the Effingham County Cultural Center and Museum.
