It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles D. Heitman of Effingham, Illinois, who passed away on February 4, 2022, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Heitman and Clara Heitman; his wife Norma Chesnut; his daughter Sonya (Randy Suzewitz); his son-in-law Howard Hankins; his sister Rosalie Kemper; and his siblings-in-law, Loren Dee Chesnut, Harold Naber, Walter Kemper, Mildred Naber and Theda Heitmann.
He is survived by: his children, Joan Eirhart (Jerry) of Shumway and Neal Heitman (Kathy) of Normal, IL; his grandchildren, Matthew Suzewitz (Eva) of Africa and Amanda Suzewitz of Mesa, AZ; his great grandchildren, Christian Suzewitz, Wyatt Rahn, Isabel Suzewitz, Lily Asburry, Victoria Suzewitz and Hudson Suzewitz-Aucker; his siblings, Albert of Palm Bay, Florida and Mardell (Kent); and his sister-in-law Marjorie Chesnut of Mattoon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Salvation Army of Mattoon.
