She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Dirks and Dora Dirks (Fromme); her husband Thomas A. Began; her son Thomas; her granddaughter Heather Began; and her son-in-law Dave Crye Jr. To.

She is survived by: her children, Michael Allen Began (Alison) of Watson, Nancy Ann Huskey (Marty) of Vandalia and Robert Anthony Began (Julie) of Altamont; and her grandchildren, Michael Began of Watson, Maria Began of Watson, David Crye (Brittney) of Vandalia, Dustin Crye of Granite City, Danielle Harrison (Skylar) of Vandalia, Hannah Bigard (Brandon) of Greenup, Tad Huskey (Mason) of Mechanicsburg and Craig Huskey (Christina) of Vandalia. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
