He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence West and Nora West (Barton); his siblings, Paul, James, Bonnie Harrison and Joyce Meyer; and his sister-in-law Janet West.
He is survived by: his wife Charlotte; his children, Cheri of Effingham and Chad (Lori) of Effingham; his grandchildren, Kylie, Karter and Katelyn; and his brothers, Clarence (Judy) of Arizona, Cecil (Lillie) of Yale and Andy of Effingham.

Memorials may be made in Carl's name to Crossroads Free Will Baptist Church in Effingham.
