He was predeceased by: his son Michael; his parents, F. Ritchie Gibbons and Loraine Gibbons (Vogt); and his brother Tom. He is survived by: his wife Sherry Gibbons (Reardon); and his children, Judy Riordon (John), Brian Gibbons (Magdalena), Paul Gibbons (Heather), Tom Gibbons (Lori), Beth Capdevielle (Matthew), Dan Gibbons (Taryn) and Jim Gibbons. He is also survived by his twenty-one grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fr. McGivney Catholic High School or St. Mary's Catholic Church in Edwardsville.
