He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence E. Elam and Alma Elam (Blankenship); his former wife Valeria Pownall; his wife Connie Jo Jelinek; and his daughter-in-law Susan Elam.
He is survived by: his children, Kristy Lindberg (Keith) of Edwardsville, IL, Randy Elam of Godfrey, IL and Karma Elam of Edwardsville, IL; his grandchildren, Mathew Elam of Ewa Beach, HI, Chris Elam (Jessica) of Godfrey, IL and Laura Hagin (Chris) of Papillion, NE; and his great grandchildren, Oliver, Adeline, Benjamin, Amelia, Everly Elam, Eli, Malachi and Madeline Hagin. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials to First Baptist Church in Edwardsville.
