He was predeceased by: his parents, August Oppe and Anna Oppe (Lapp); his wife Annette Pioletti; and his siblings, Eldon, Joseph, Thomas, Ida, Helen, Mary Ann and Leota.
He is survived by: his children, Theresa Cipri (late Frank) of Peoria, Anthony Oppe of West Peoria, James Oppe (Barb) of Edwards, Daniel Oppe of Edwards, Donald Oppe of Edwards and Douglas Oppe (Martha) of Edwards; his grandchildren, Joshua Cipri (Jessica), Annette Oppe and Sophia Oppe; his great grandchild Asher Cipri; and his siblings, Mildred "Mickey" Gilles of Elmwood and Warren Oppe of Peoria.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM. A rosary will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the St. Mary Kickapoo Parish Hall (9910 W Knox St, Edwards, IL 61528). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Mary Catholic Church-Kickapoo View (9910 W Knox St, Edwards, IL 61528).
Preferred memorials in Walter's memory may be made to St Mary's School in Kickapoo.
