He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Raymond and Ruth Louise Vonk (Heitzman); his stepdaughter Shannon Sommer; and his siblings, Ernie Vonk, Gerry Tyler and Bonnie Vonk.
He is survived by: his children, Stephanie Blount (Forrest) of Chillicothe, Lacy Williams (Ryan Robertson) of Chillicothe and David Vonk (Molly) of Sulphur Springs, TX; his stepson Strider Sommer (Natalie) of Gridley, IL; his siblings, Neil Vonk of Chillicothe, IL, Nancy Kaelin of Chillicothe, IL, Anita Ward of Chillicothe, IL, Christina Grafelman (Tebben) of Hanna City, IL and Lisa Bessler (Jeff) of Sparland, IL; and his close friend Luann Morelock. He is also survived by five grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.
