He is survived by: his children, Ronnie Merritt Jr. of Edgewood, Mason Thomas of Cisne and Rachel Merritt of Edgewood; his sister Karla Merritt Labitzke of Effingham; and his nieces, Misty Glass-Powers and Mindy Glass-Sizemore.
