He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Buhrmann and Mildred Buhrmann (Allen); his wife Sue Wood; his son Charles "Chuck" Buhrmann; his son-in-law Gary Smith; and his sisters, Edith Liggett and Henrietta Sapp.
He is survived by: his siblings, Charles Peters (Sonia) of Effingham, Henry Buhrmann (Joyce) of Edgewood, Kenneth Buhrmann (Darlene) of Louisville, Larry Buhrmann (Beulah) of Hutchinson, Kansas, Ebert Goens (Laveeta) of Mattoon, Glenda Blurton of Canton, Ohio and Shirley Ingram (Bobby) of Edgewood; his daughters, Connie Smith of Ivesdale, Becky Wiley (Lee Melton) of Flora, Sherri Wood of Edgewood and Christina Wells (Timothy Kirkbride) of McKinney; his grandchildren, Amy Meeks (Terry) of Louisville, Audra Grubaugh (John) of Flora, Joe Smith (Brittany) of Rolling Meadows, Illinois, Kim Melton of Evansville, Indiana, Jessica August (Mike) of Tinley Park, Illinois, Joanna Franks of McKinney, Texas, Randal Howard of McKinney, Texas, Melissa Buhrmann of Greenville, Jason Buhrmann of Greenville and LeeAnna Buhrmann of Greenville; and his pets, Maggie and Kiki Dee. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
