He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Smith and Della Smith; his wife Norma Jean Miller-Smith; his siblings, A. C. Smith, Ed Louis Smith, Annie Pearl Mucherson and Truddie Bell Allen; his children, Author Lee Smith, Herman Jefferson, Mary M. White (Robert) of Belleville, IL and Trudy Bell Smith; and his grandson Johnny C. Farmer, Jr. (Elnoris Smith).
He is survived by: his children, Elnoris Smith Jr. of Memphis, TN, Joseph Smith (Diane) of Belleville, IL and Ruby Jordan (Demetrius) of Fairview Heights, IL. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
