He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Middleton and Viola Barndollar Middleton; his wife Julia Hughes; his siblings, Harry, Wilford, Bobby and Beverly; his stepmother Sally Middleton; his son-in-law George Whitehead; and his grandson Christopher Whitehead.
He is survived by: his stepdaughters, Sandy Arnett (Greg) of Canton and Jo Ann Whitehead of Carbondale; his grandson Jonathon Whitehead; and his great grandchild Caylee Whitehead. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
