He was predeceased by: his father Richard Brooks; his wife Christine P. Schmitt; and his sister Lynn Brooks. He is survived by: his mother Ann Spencer Brooks; his daughters, Jessica Kelly (Mike) of Metamora and Ashley Taylor (Justin) of East Peoria; his grandchildren, Madilynn and Mikey, Jr.; his brother Jeff Brooks (Holly); his nephews, Jack of East Peoria and Joseph of East Peoria; and his uncle Bob Brooks (Janell).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Freedom Valley ABATE, where Doug was an active member.
