He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Heil and Genevieve Schnicker Heil; and his brother Paul. He is survived by: his wife Barb Champion; and his sister Mary Kay Ahonen. He is also survived by several nieces and one nephew.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, or St. Jude Children's Hospital in Peoria.
