He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel Lopez and Margarita Padilla Lopez; his brothers, Pete and Carlos; his son Scottie; and his grandson Bill Kilburn.
He is survived by: his wife Evelyn of Edwardsville; his children, James Gregory of Glasgow, Kimberly Lopez of Dallas, Rhonda Kilburn (Rex) of St. Augustine, Kelly Lopez of Havana and Shara Fisher (Eric) of Edwardsville; his sisters, Lupe Valdivia of Peoria, Carmen Cruz of Coolidge, Arizona and Josie Madril of Coolidge, Arizona; and his granddaughter Mischa Waller (Scott) of East Peoria. He is also survived by great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
