We are sad to announce that on February 3, 2023 we had to say goodbye to George J Birkel of East Moline, Illinois, born in Rock Island, Illinois. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Birkel and Vendla Birkel (Bengston); and his siblings, Ethel Ruge, Doris Birkel, Barbara Gibbs, Donald, Richard, Lloyd and John.

He is survived by: his spouse LaNeva Marlier; and his children, Darcy Loete of Moline, IL, Lisa Birkel of Moline, IL and Todd Birkel (Lynda) of Elizabeth, IL. He is also survived by three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to the YMCA.
