He is survived by: his wife Jean; his pets, DJ and Maezy; his children, Jaimie Smith (Brenda) of Lascassas, TN., Nena Fink (Marvin) of Murfreesboro, TN., Bonus, Tom Bussert (Janie), Mike Bussert (Anji) and Jon Bussert (Amber); his grandchildren, Olivia, Steven Soseman, Lila Bussert, Jake, Ryan Bussert, Gavin, Vance Bussert, Trent Fink and Joe Fink (Callie); his siblings, Allen Smith (Sandy) of Panama City, FL. and Carolyn Smith of Tyler, TX.; and his sister-in-law Diane Smith of Decatur, IL..
In lieu of flowers, Doug and his family have requested donations be made to the Coe-Lamb American Legion Post 421, or the Genesis (Hospice) Foundation.
