He was predeceased by: his mother Lizzie Mae Patterson (Simmons); his wife Pearl Patterson; his grandchildren, Destiny Wren and Robert Wren; his sisters, Doris Janie Patterson and Annie Walton; and his son-in-law Chris Ward.
He is survived by: his parent Dolphus A. Patterson I; his children, Angela Ward (Anthony), Dolphus Patterson III (Melody), Curtiss Patterson (Tiffiny), Areatha Patterson, Kimberly Patterson (Ervin) and April Patterson; and his siblings, Lois Johnson (Nelson), Rose Reed (Lonnie), Melanie Patterson, Jerome Patterson and David Baker. He is also survived by 30 grandchildren, host of great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
