He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude F., Sr. and Pauline Ralston Sherrod; his son Dennis Sherrod; and his siblings, Thomas Sherrod, Claude F. Sherrod, Jr., Helen Anderson and Dorothy Nelson.
He is survived by: his spouse JoAnn L. Ponce; his children-in-law, Terri Henry, Mark Henry, Erie, Sandra, Carl Horton, Carbon Cliff and Lisa Sherrod Coleman; and his grandchildren, Brandon Johnson (Heather), Derrick Johnson (Brooke), Jordan Henry (Allyson), Yvonne Lane (Paul), Whitney Lane (Jordan), Scott Horton, Joshua Sherrod (Amanda), Jamie Sherrod and Jennifer Sherrod. He is also survived by husband, father and grandfather.
