It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Betty L. Sommers of East Moline, Illinois, who passed away on November 20, 2024, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Bertie Turner and Grace Turner (Lewis); her husband Donald L. Sommers; her son-in-law Mark Rice; and her grandson-in-law Ken Frew.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Sommers (Chris) of Davenport, Kathy Smeltzer (Mike) of Davenport, Sandra Rice (Mark) of Davenport, Tammy Sullivan (Brian) of East Moline and Col. Rick Webb of Papillion, Nebraska; and her grandchildren, Josh Sommers (Rebekah), Adam Sommers (Nicole), Aaron Sommers (Shannon), Matt Smeltzer (Sarah), Jake Smeltzer, Aaron Sullivan (Jill), Rachel Sullivan, Seth Sullivan (Ashley), Megan Denney (Ryan) and Nick Sletten (Alissa). She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
A reception will be held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the CityView Room at Trimble Pointe (701 12th St, Moline, IL 61265).
Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established in Betty's memory.
