He was predeceased by: his parents, Valentin Lopez and Natalia Lopez (Pantoja); and his siblings, Angelina, Maria, Ramon and Roberto.

He is survived by: his wife Veronica Aguirre; his siblings, Jovita, Rodolfo and Javier; his sisters-in-law, Gabriela, Marina and Ariana; his sister Mary Hooper Shaw; and his nieces and nephews, Marcela, Evangelina, Rosalba, Rafael and German. He is also survived by his great-nieces and great-nephews and many other friends and relatives.
