He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Spautz and Lorraine Spautz (Bleile); his parents-in-law, Leo and Virginia Gau (Ruff); his sister-in-law Maggie Spautz; his uncles, Dick Spautz and Joe Spautz; and his aunt Mary Udell.
He is survived by: his wife Pat (Gau); his daughters, Janelle Nickolas (Chuck) of Durango, IA, Angie Spautz of East Dubuque, IL and Becky Schulting (Terry) of East Dubuque, IL; his grandsons, Tim Spautz (Megan), Nathan Nickolas, Alec Schulting (Holly) and Zachary Schulting; his great grandchildren, Eli Nickolas, Alyza Powell and Harper Spautz; his siblings, Dick Spautz (Mike Spautz) and Diane Herrig (Chuck); and his parents-in-law, Terry McClain (Steve), Laura Deckert, Jim Gau (Kim) and Karla Ray (Dan). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Bob's final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through tissue donation.
