He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Schmieder and Matred Schmieder (Belken); and his siblings, Bill Schmieder, Eunice "Smede" Larkin (Norm) and Helen Werner (Gordon).
He is survived by: his children, Jim Schmieder of Hazel Green, WI, Chris Timmerman of Hazel Green, WI, Sue Reed of Hazel Green, WI, Tom Schmieder of Hazel Green, WI, Lisa Trierweiler of Hazel Green, WI and Jenny Harrington (Eric) of Hazel Green, WI; his brother Wayne Schmieder (Marlene) of Cuba City, WI; and his sister-in-law Cathy Schmieder of Huntsville, AL. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of plants & flowers, a Richard "Dick" Dean Schmieder Memorial Fund has been established.
